Summer is fast approaching.

You are here: Home / Latest News / Belmont / Summer is fast approaching.

The temperature is on the rise. Help keep animals safe as the mercury rises. Remember…

• Don’t take pets away from home unless absolutely necessary

• Ensure animals have ample water and shelter

• Try to move pets inside if possible

• NEVER leave your pet shut up in a car even for very short periods.                                • Small animals (rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, birds) are highly susceptible to heat stress                                                                                                                             • Don’t exercise animals during the middle of the day                                                     • Frozen treats are a great way to keep animals hydrated and cool

Be especially careful with short nosed dogs such as Bull dogs and Pugs as they are more sensitive to heat.

If your pet collapses in the heat seek veterinary help immediately-this is a serious life-threatening emergency!

If your pets are showing any of these symptoms or you suspect of a snake bite, please contact us immediately.
