
Crystal – Vet Nurse / Receptionist
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
Crystal has a Veterinary Nurse Certificate IV from Kurri Kurri TAFE. She works mainly at our Charlestown Clinic.
Upon completion of her vet nursing certificate in 2004, she joined us at the Lake Veterinary Hospitals and is now an important member of our Charlestown team.
Her cheerful disposition and obliging nature, and the compassion she shows towards her patients, has seen her develop into a great veterinary nurse, and an invaluable member of our staff.
Away from work, Crystal loves socialising, Paddleboarding, travelling and shopping.

Angela – Vet Nurse / Receptionist
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing

Angela joined our team as a permanent member of staff early in 2010. Prior to this she had worked on a volunteer work experience basis at our Charlestown practice while studying for her Veterinary Nurse Certificate IV at Kurri Kurri TAFE.
She completed her course late in 2009 and her motivation, her friendly nature and the compassion she shows to her patients made her an easy choice when filling a vacancy in our expanding Lake Vet Hospital team. She works mainly at our Belmont Clinic.
Angela now is an integral member of our staff.
Outside of work Angela likes to watch movies, play video games, see live bands and spend time with her husband Dave and cat Miss Puss.

Erin – Vet Nurse / Receptionist
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing

Erin has always had a huge passion towards all animals, having grown up in the Edgeworth area amongst dogs, cats, cows, horses, guinea pigs, sheep and other farm animals. Whilst at Glendale Technology High she studied a Certificate II in Animal Studies. She then followed up with Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at Kurri Kurri Tafe during the 2 years post-school, finishing in 2011. During her TAFE years she was doing work experience at our Charlestown practice.
Erin’s complete enthusiasm to her work, her bright bubbly personality, and her dedication to patient care and customer service, made her a natural choice when a nurse receptionist job came up late in 2011. She has not disappointed, and has become an integral member of our dedicated team.
In her leisure time Erin loves shopping, going to the beach, and hanging out with her pets and walking her dogs.

Michelle – Vet Nurse / Receptionist
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
After completing her HSC in 2008, Michelle took a year off. She then enrolled in TAFE in the Certificate II in Animal Studies course, which she completed in 2010. During this course she started doing voluntary work experience with us at our Charlestown practice. She then went on and enrolled in the Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, completing this in 2012.
While doing work experience she became a very significant contributor to the practice and showed us a great aptitude in client service and patient care. Michelle joined the team in 2011. She has not let us down with her efficiency and reliability, her great customer service always with a smile, and her compassionate patient care.
Michelle likes to relax by watching movies and TV, playing video games and going to the beach.

Virginia – Vet Nurse / Receptionist
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
Virginia joined us as a part time receptionist and nurse at our Belmont surgery in November 2008. She usually works the afternoon shifts.
Before joining the veterinary industry, Virginia spent 22 years in the police force. During that time she did a degree in Welfare, and was always passionate about animals. She decided to pursue her interest in animals and completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2008.
As part of her nursing course she did voluntary work experience at our Charlestown Animal Hospital. Virginia owns numerous pets and enjoys breeding Netherland Dwarf Rabbits. She is married to husband Mark, and has 2 children. Her daughter is a passionate showjumper and her son wants to be a vet.

Angela – Vet Nurse / Receptionist
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
Angela has a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and is a Delta Accredited dog trainer. She works mainly at our Charlestown Clinic.
She initially joined the Lake Veterinary Hospitals as a work experience student while still at school and re-joined our practice as a veterinary nurse in 2005.
Angela’s bright bubbly personality and genuine compassion for her furry patients have made her a very welcome recruit to our team.
Angela is married to Dean. Away from work Angela loves catching up with friends, walking, cycling and scrapbooking.

Sarah – Vet Nurse / Receptionist
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing

Sarah is originally from a town just outside of London called Horsham in the UK. She moved to Newcastle in 2007 with her husband Neil and two daughters Kate and Imogen. They have 2 guinea pigs and Boris the cat.
In the UK Sarah worked as a groom at an Arabian Stud and was also a volunteer puppy trainer for the Guide Dogs.
In her spare time, Sarah keeps fit with her family enjoying events such as hiking and fun runs.

Laura – Vet Nurse / Receptionist
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing

Laura followed her passion of working with pets at The Lake Veterinary Hospital in August 2016. She completed her Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing while doing work placement at the clinic. Before becoming a vet nurse Laura was a beauty therapist for 10 years. She is loving her career change.
In Laura’s spare time she enjoys going to the beach with her fiancé Jarrad and their three dogs Lola and Rosie the pugs and Bob the Dogue de Bordeaux.

Josie – Vet Nurse / Receptionist
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing

Josie has always had a passion for animals and it only made sense to carry that passion into practice.
Josie started with The Lake Veterinary Hospitals as a work experience student in 2017 and on completion of her veterinary nursing course, she become a member of staff.
Outside of work Josie competes in show jumping competitions. Josie and her boyfriend Sam enjoy going to the beach and spending time with their much loved cattle dogs Ringo/Rosie and 3 horses Fresco, Santana and Melody.

Danielle – Vet Nurse / Receptionist
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing

After a 9 year career in banking and lending, Danielle joined the Lake Veterinary Hospitals to follow her passion for animals and complete a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.
Danielle commenced work experience in 2017 and joined the team in late 2018. Danielle has a particular interest in dog behaviour and has fostered working breed dogs for the past 5 years. Danielle enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband Blake, daughter Georgie and Australian Cattle Dog Zoey. Her husband Blake also has a passion for turtles and they have Eastern Long-Necked Turtle named CJ.

Rachel – Vet Nurse / Receptionist
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing

After completing her HSC, Rachel knew she wanted to work with animals. She started by volunteering at a local vet clinic, then enrolling at Kurri Kurri TAFE to study Certificate II in Animal Studies. After completing her Animal Studies course, Rachel went on to complete her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, graduating in December 2018.
Rachel has been a part of the team at The Lake Veterinary Hospitals since March 2019, and is enjoying every day of working in a field she is passionate about.
Outside of work, Rachel enjoys spending time at the beach, exploring new places, and hanging out with her German Shepherd x Rottweiler Asha, and her 3 Ragdoll cats Moo, Skyla-Mae, and Loki.

Lucy – Vet Nurse / Receptionist
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing

Lucy joined the Lake Veterinary Hospitals team in March 2019. She has had a long association with Lake Vets, beginning in 2014, where she did school work experience at the Belmont clinic. She went on to do a Certificate II in Animal Studies at TAFE and then a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, graduating in June 2018.
Lucy has a lot of animals at home in her life, such as birds, dogs, guinea pigs and rabbits. She is studying a Bachelor of Arts and likes to paint, read and go to music concerts.
