Spring has sprung, which means all the beautiful flowers and plants are starting to bloom!

You are here: Home / Pet Care / Cats / Spring has sprung, which means all the beautiful flowers and plants are starting to bloom!

Did you know, many of the common plants, springtime flowers and fruit trees that can be found in our backyards and local parks have toxins or seeds that can be harmful to our pets?

Some examples include Brulfensia (yesterday today tomorrow plant) , Macadamia trees, Sago palms, Lilies to name a few.

Take care to cover compost aswell. Avoid using snail baits in your vegetable patch- the so called ‘pet friendly’ iron edta are toxic. Coffee granules and garlic/chive infused water sprays and egg shells will deter snails/slugs.

As pet parents, remember to keep an eye out.

Please email lakevet@lakevet.com.au photos of any plants, flowers and fruit trees you are concerned may be harmful to your pet.
