Philip Wilson BVSc (Hons)

Philip is very much a local boy, having grown up in Belmont. He graduated from Sydney University in 1975 with 2nd class honours and after a stint as a government vet, Philip went into private practice and then started his own practice, The Lake Veterinary Hospital, Belmont in September 1980.

Philip's professional interests lie in all aspects of general medicine and surgery and practice management. Phil has completed a rigorous practice management course, based at Canberra University, and is always busy implementing new strategies to the practice to benefit both staff and clients.

Phil, Kathy, Ellie and LucyHe heads up the team of vets and nurses at our new Belmont practice and is dedicated to ensuring that the practice lives up the its vision of providing very professional and caring service in a happy and friendly environment.

Philip is married to Kathy (nee Walton - a local girl too) and has 4 children, Lachlan, Jessica, Andrew and Toby. Philip's interests away from work include sailing and rugby union. The family have two very loved Golden retrievers, Ellie and Lucy and a cat, Aimie.

Vicki Wills BVSc

Vicki was born and spent her childhood years in Sydney before attending Brisbane University for her Vet Science degree. She joined the Lake Vet practice in 1997 after spending a number of years in practice in Queensland.

Vicki has a special interest in Veterinary Ultrasonography (and is at present enjoying our new ultrasound machine), and loves all medicine and surgery, especially her feline work.

In 2004 Vicki completed a distance education course in Small Animal Surgery, which involved a lot of study, and gave her many extra skills and knowledge in this field. Vicki has alsoVicki with Paddy and Hannah completed another distance education course in the field of Oncology. Oncology has become a very important field in small animal medicine, and with the improved diagnostics and treatments for cancer patients, many clients are willing to go the extra mile.

Away from work, Vicki loves renovating houses. Her other passions include Arab horses, big shaggy dogs and bagpipes. The household presently consists of two dogs Paddy, a cross Terrier and Hannah, a Standard Schnauzer, two fussy felines, Lilly and Molly, Milo a Burmese, and a long-suffering father.

Alison Barrett BVSc (Hons)

Alison is a Queenslander and this is her first time living south of the border. She graduated with first class honours from Vet School at the University of Queensland in 1995 after first completing a degree in Medical Laboratory Science.

She has spent most of her career in the UK in a variety of mixed and small animal practices and  returned to Australia in 2007.

Her veterinary interests are small animal medicine and soft tissue surgery with a special interest in rabbits and rodents.

She lives with her partner and their cat, Widdy.

Outside of work she has a passion for all sports, fishing and camping.
