Dr Geoff Shumack BVSc (Hons)
Geoff graduated from Sydney University in 1976, with 2nd class Honours and after a stint in rural practice he joined the Lake Veterinary Hospitals group, and soon after he became a partner in the practice.
Geoff's professional interests lie in general medicine and surgery. He spends most of his professional time at the Charlestown practice and has dedicated himself to leading a great team of vets and nurses to ensure that we continue to provide the very best of patient and client care in a positive and friendly environment. The welfare of our staff is also a major concern, with Geoff ensuring that they continue in their professional development and continue to enjoy their work.
Away from the coal face his interests include rowing to keep fit, golf and rugby (from the side line these days) and music. He and his wife Mandy have four children, Peter, Thomas, Sophie-Anna and Sam.
The family pets include Abbie, a Jack Russell Terrier, and 5 sheep (the rural side coming out).
Jenny Warland BVSc
Jenny graduated from Sydney University in 1995, and then moved into a small animal practice in Gosford and then Raymond Terrace before joining The Lake Veterinary Hospital team in 1999.
Jenny and her husband Michael have 3 pets: 'Mya' a Doberman, 'Codi' a Husky cross, and 'Meggie' a moggie who has lived a charmed life since she was dumped at the Raymond Terrace Veterinary Clinic for euthanasia as a 4 week old kitten. All the pets are a very much loved part of the family.
Jenny has two children, Connor and Breanna. After her children were born she had an extended maternity leave but returned to the practice in 2009 to work part time on Mondays, Wednesdays and some Saturdays.
Jenny's interests include trying to keep up with Connor, Breanna and Michael's social activities, craft, painting, scrap booking and renovating the house.
Simon Lubans BVSc (Hons)
Simon grew up in Valentine, and attended Warners Bay High. He graduated from Sydney University with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (1st class honours) in 2002, after 1st completing an Arts degree and doing some travel.
Simon joined us at The Lake Veterinary Hospital in November 2004, after a year in a very busy Sydney practice and 12 months in the Greenhills Veterinary Hospital.
Simon is interested in all facets of Small Animal Veterinary Science but in particular general medicine. He has loved his move to the Lake Veterinary Hospitals and hopes to be here for the long term.
Away from work Simon spends a lot of time with his passions of surfing, mountain bike riding and jogging with his much loved and highly personable Punch, a female Staffordshire bull terrier.
